Double-Action Ressort Corkscrew
Our Double-Action Ressort Corkscrew is a heavy duty pewter and gilt brass corkscrew that has been patented by Sir Thomason in 1802, the double-action spring corkscrew system enables you to pull out the cork easily by continuously turning the handle in the same direction. There is no need to know how to use a corkscrew with this device. The aim is to reduce the physical effort required to remove a cork and so allow you to open the bottle gently. The first helical shaft causes the worm to penetrate the cork. Double Action Corkscrew - When it reaches the bottom of the cork, the larger helical shaft turns in order to pull out the cork. A ring of leather placed at the base of the corkscrew protects the neck of the bottle and adapts the device to different bottlenecks. Steel.
Made of steel and polished brass, this simple and elegant corkscrew is a reproduction of a 19th century corkscrew featuring a spring-like shape - Ressort is the French word for 'spring'. Double spindle design: by turning the handle clockwise, the corkscrew is fully threaded into the cork and then the cork is extracted from the bottle by continuing to turn the handle in the same direction. Gift boxed.
