One of the
true gems of the Mendoza region - a masterful creation from one of Italy’s most
influential consultants/winemakers, Alberto Antonini. Unfortunately, the
distributor has only a few cases left on hand and it appears the wine will not
be returning to Georgia for four more years.
Beautifully
proportioned 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with rich notes of cherry, plum, currant
and spice flavors, with sweet tannins and delicate nuances of toasty buttery oak
and vanilla. Best of all, the wine’s flavors build on the palate in an
incredible wave of sensation. In a blind tasting, this Cabernet Sauvignon could
easily be mistaken for a top-ranked Bordeaux.
Winemaker’s
Notes
Our vintage 2002 Cabernet was harvested the second week of April. Our notes
recall that this was a lush year with lots of rain and a mild, long summer.
Generally, yields that year were very high, as was quality. We intentionally,
however, cropped our acres to only two tons per acre, resulting in the most
premium, concentrated fruit.
